Saturday dawned brightly, a beautiful sunny start to a weekend of Fashion. The Daks show started just as brightly with white washed dresses followed by apricot and rust coloured jumpsuits and the occasional Burberry reminiscent check. My first celebrity spotting of the day was Absolutely Fabulous’ Joanna Lumley suitably styled with a ridiculous hat. There was time for copious amounts of coffee before the Ji Cheng show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout.
Opposite us on the tea lined catwalk was Kate Nash who was sporting a Daphne Guinness style black and white hair colour. Ji Cheng’s collection was inspired by Chinese tea rituals and used a predominantly white, nude and mint green palette. Perfect styling included wooden platforms and a modern take on traditional peasant hats .
We made a pit stop at the Vauxhall exhibitions to check out some of the emerging talent on display. My favourites included Steven Tai’s work which focuses on layering, in the extreme, the shirt Steven’s holding below weighs about five Kgs!
Also exhibiting was Taeseouk Kang who explored sexual displacement themes with his bag collection. The rang included this hairy number and a bag that unfolds to become a full length dress!
