BEAUTY: A Beautiful Cause

There’s plenty of opportunity to incorporate a good deed into your beauty routine this month with lots of exciting collaborations between major brands and good causes.

Clinique, supported by House of Fraser, are partners to the Kiss it Better appeal and have gone bigger and better for the 10 year anniversary of the KISS IT BETTER appeal with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, raising money to fund research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancer.

Clinique and House of Fraser have partnered with the luxury British brand Lulu Guinness to create two exclusive sets from which 100% of the RRP will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

‘I am absolutely thrilled to be involved with the inspirational Kiss it Better appeal with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. The exclusive sets make not only lovely gifts but are such an easy way of giving back. I hope this collaboration will help to raise awareness of the charity and all the great work it does improving and saving the lives of so many brave children.’ Lulu Guinness, Founder and Creative Director.

Meanwhile LUSH cosmetics shops in more than 40 countries will celebrate Valentine’s Day 2014 by promoting the campaign for LGBTQ rights by declaring WE BELIEVE IN LOVE on their shop windows and promoting the hashtag  #SignofLove.

The Valentine’s campaign is launched in partnership with All Out to coincide with the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.  When LUSH staff and customers paint and share their #SignofLove, they are responding to new legislation in Russia that bans the “propaganda of non traditional sexual relations to minors”.  The campaign will not run in LUSH’s Russian shops.

By supporting two iconic beauty brands this month you’ll also play a small part in supporting two equally important causes, and I would encourage any fellow beauty bloggers to promote their Lush reviews with the #SignofLove hashtag over the winter Olympic period and generate a little extra support – let’s be beautiful on the inside as well as the outside!
