I had my nails done and a mini facial at Rougz salon, Finchley Road, this week. I had purchased a basement bargain voucher from Last Minute.com (£10 for both treatments) so was slightly apprehensive about the quality. Upon arrival my first impression was that the salon is a bit tacky looking, lots of Rougz items and fake flowers. However, the staff were absolutely lovely. My therapist was a friendly Italian girl who fetched me coffee and took great care in how it was made (trust the Italians). The file and paint was just that, no cuticle work. It seems to be a new trend with salons to offer a full manicure and then a cheaper file and paint option. I opted for a black polish and chose to have my nails slightly more oval than usual. The application was careful and looked really nice, but after just three days the polish started to chip, and with the black colour it shows quite obviously, so I won’t be choosing a black polish again. My 30 minute mini facial again was very nicely executed, but on the basic side (hence the saying you get what you pay for). Using Spiezia Organic products I had a cleanse, exfoliation and massage (no steam or extractions etc). Overall it was very nice service and certainly worth more than £10. The salon offer the option to buy the combo again at the same price so I’ll certainly be back for my bargain beauty treatments.
