During London Fashion Week I had my make-up done by Maybelline. Maybelline has taken over from MAC as the official make-up sponsor, and being a big MAC fan I must say I was wary . I’m sure by now most of you will have seen a million perfect looks on Instagram, twitter and blogs from LFW, but that’s not the reality! I’m not a Maybelline … Continue reading Beauty: Maybelline Mishaps
Fresh from Fashion Week it’s time for a weekend and week of Beauty, kicking off with Beauty Olympia on the 20th-22nd of September. I always find the show a bit overwhelming, so many people trying to paint eyebrows on you… That being said, I’m really excited for the Nailympia London competition , especially the Runway Nails category which will be judged by controversial fashion designer Gareth Pugh. Nail … Continue reading BEAUTY: Gareth Pugh To Judge ‘Runway Nails’
For London Fashion Week I popped into Cheeky salon in Shoreditch for a quick manicure. I chose Cherry Nice for the colour, and the great thing about Cheeky treatments is you get to keep the polish after! Continue reading BEAUTY: Cheeky Manicure For LFW
Nails are having an 80’s moment this year, and fun nail art in neon pastels is the perfect summer accompaniment to double denim. If nail art isn’t a strength start with one feature nail on each hand. Continue reading BEAUTY: Nails Of The Week – 80’s

Spring is coming so it’s time to try out some fun new shades of polish to celebrate. I’m obsessed with this mint tone from Cheeky, which I first had on my toes but now love even more on my nails. It’s the perfect match for March blooms and crisp park mornings. Continue reading BEAUTY: Nails Of The Week – Cheeky Spring Mint
I had my nails done and a mini facial at Rougz salon, Finchley Road, this week. I had purchased a basement bargain voucher from Last Minute.com (£10 for both treatments) so was slightly apprehensive about the quality. Upon arrival my first impression was that the salon is a bit tacky looking, lots of Rougz items and fake flowers. However, the staff were absolutely lovely. My … Continue reading BEAUTY: Nails Of The Week – Black Out
I have a new favourite London cafe, and a new favourite bar, and a new favourite salon, and they’re all Cheeky, Cheeky Parlour in Shoreditch that is! Sunday brunch with the girls was given a great little twist this weekend when I booked for brunch at Cheeky. Offering Cheeky Eats (cake pops and cupcakes) and Cheeky drinks (cocktails anyone?) while you have your hair or … Continue reading BEAUTY: Getting Cheeky
This week I decided to have a little fun with this Nails Inc. metallic silver “South Kensington” polish. It looks great in the bottle but I find the consistency isn’t fantastic. It requires a lot of coats to get it looking opaque and even then the brush strokes are quite visible with the reflective nature of metallic colours. It won’t be visiting South Kensington again … Continue reading BEAUTY: Nails Of The Week – Metallic
I’ve never found a white polish with a matte finish that wasn’t translucent or glittery. So for this look I’ve used a polish from a French tip set. It still requires several coats to get a block colour, but the end result has a fresh look to it which hints at warmer weather to come. Continue reading BEAUTY: Nails Of The Week – White Out
I recently tried a new Nails Inc colour ‘George Street’ which is a light colour somewhere in-between mauve and beige. I used this with Sally Hansen ‘Complete Care’ which was also a first time try. The results were disappointing, I’m unsure which of the products are to blame until I try them separately. I held a bias against George Street to begin with as I … Continue reading BEAUTY: Nails Of The Week – Nails Inc George Street
Saturday night I was out and about for Waitangi Day when flakes started falling in London, not used to the snow I almost immediately fell over. I regained some balance and played in the snow for the rest of the evening before venturing out on sunday in my cosy Miwa By Yuki Tassle Jumper to explore the winter wonderland. I love this jumper so much, … Continue reading ESCAPES: Snow Baby!
