Don’t be distracted by the outrageously cute Spaniel puppy in the window, 59/61 Chiltern Street, London is not a pet store for unusually gorgeous dogs! Look beyond the silky ears and puppy dog eyes of Jack the resident cutie and you’ll find one of London’s top hair and Beauty Salons. Frequented by celebs and Middle Eastern royalty, this salon invited me to a special revealing of their Hair and … Continue reading BEAUTY: Summer Up-Dos With Leticia Haute Coiffure
It’s only three more days until the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and I’ve kicked off my celebrations early, running around London to various Diamond and British heritage themed events. There are too many to blog about them all – I do have a day job – but I thought I’d share a few highlights over the coming days. Last year I was introduced to a gorgeously eclectic swimwear … Continue reading FASHION: Paolita At Portman Village Jubilee Street Party
We all know about Primark Oxford Street, well if you live in London you do (and even if you don’t you should) but yesterday I discovered a shopping Gem just around the corner in the form of Atelier Mayer a gorgeous boutique staffed by 50’s Barbie dolls and full of vintage finds, including a to die for section of Chanel! Highly recomended! Add this to your … Continue reading FASHION: London’s Hidden Treasures
With snow still fresh in my memory it was a warm change to see some swimwear and lingerie on show. My First show of London Fashion Week this year was the Paolita Swimwear, Playful Promises, Kiss Me Deadly and Lucile Lingerie collections showcased with a Circus theme at Cirque du Soir complete with topless fire dancer Aurora Galore. In typical Fashion Week…. Fashion….. this was probably the only … Continue reading FASHION: Paolita Swimwear Playful Promises Kiss Me Deadly and Lucile Lingerie
I had so much fun at the Yuki Winter press day last month mingling with lots of fabulous bloggers and writers .The winter collections from Yuki Tokyo and Miwa By Yuki feature fabulous coats, cosy knitwear and cute printed dresses. I’ve included some pics of my favourite pieces from the collection! Very yummy cupcakes were eaten, in far too large quantities, along with Vitamin Water, Midori Cocktails, and Walkers … Continue reading FASHION: Yuki And Miwa Winter Press Day
Topshop concession favourite YUKI launched a new sister range Miwa By Yuki in London recently and celebrated with cupcakes and frozen Rocktails. The Miwa range is similar to Yuki’s chic simple style but with an edgier tone and asymmetric cuts which stand out on the high street given they are usually only seen in high-end designer stores. I just love Vitamin Water and the cute little messages on the bottles, like this one on the Lemonade: “Your … Continue reading FASHION: Yuki & Miwa Press Day

I felt just a little bit like a traitor when I headed to the Whitecliffefashion show last night. As an AUT grad I was on enemy territory at the Whitecliffe student fashion show, but what I discovered was the two schools couldn’t be more different in the talent they are producing. Held at the Alingi Base, the annual home to ANZFW, the Whitecliffe show went on for several hours, a little too long but that’s one of the few bad comments I have to make about this exceptional show. It feels like I’ve spent a reasonable chunk of my year going to POP up stores, and this weekend there’s another two opening – for a limited time only. When I investigated POP up’s earlier in the year I found that New Zealanders, while slow to pick up the trend have embraced it wholeheartedly during the recession. It makes sense to use a temporary space to sell excess stock, cutting down rent costs and waste. Ive been to so many this year I can barely keep track, each individual and exciting. My favorites were Macaroni Penguin and Pinkies.
